Among the best

HOWES Percival has been ranked in The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For list for the first time.

The Sunday Times Best Companies list celebrates excellence in workplace engagement and is widely acknowledged as the most searching and extensive research into employee engagement carried out in the UK.

Lists are compiled based on employee opinions on how the company supports wellbeing in the workplace, gives something back to society, shows strong leadership, provides opportunities for personal growth, and offers fair pay and benefits. Only the organisations with the highest level of overall employee engagement qualify for the Best Companies to Work For list.

The prestigious list was revealed at an awards dinner at Battersea Evolution in London where Howes Percival were confirmed in 65th position in the top 100 and the fourth highest place law firm. The firm achieved a 2-star Best Companies accreditation, which is given to organisations with an ‘outstanding’ commitment to workplace engagement.

Howes Percival is a rapidly growing firm, with just under 300 staff across six offices. The firm anticipates that by May 2020 it will have achieved its target set in 2014 to increase turnover from £15m to £25m.

The firm provides a full-service legal offering to corporate and private clients. Clients include Government departments, international brands and household names as well as a strong core client base of SMEs, family-owned businesses and high net worth individuals.

Graham Irons, Northampton based employment law partner said: “We are delighted to be listed as a Sunday Times Best Company. As a firm, we have always focused on nurturing and developing our people as well as fostering a supportive, open culture and it’s wonderful to see that we have now been officially recognised as one of the best places to work in the UK. The result came directly from our people’s feedback, which makes the recognition even more meaningful.

“A core part of our success with our clients is our ability to work collaboratively across teams which means our staff, at all levels, have opportunities to get involved in far more varied cases and projects.

“We also have several different forums for staff to get together – both physically and virtually – to engage, air their views and ideas, and have fun. That includes being active members of the communities in which we work. We support and encourage our staff to volunteer and get involved with charities and each of our offices has a nominated charity of the year.”
