Law firm tastes success

THE award-winning Althorp Food and Drink Festival returned to Northamptonshire in May, celebrating the region’s acclaimed producers and suppliers.

Visitors enjoyed tasty treats from more than 100 stalls at the popular event, which was held in the grounds of Althorp, one of the UK’s most beautiful private stately homes, on May 12 and 13.

Foods on offer ranged from the finest British meats and cheeses to traditional dishes from Brazil, South Africa and Mexico, while drinks included exquisite rums, vodkas and whiskies, among others.

Alongside the numerous shopping and tasting opportunities, guests enjoyed cooking demonstrations, masterclasses and workshops from top chefs in the 550-acre parkland.

Mich Turner MBE, who has created cakes for the Queen and David Beckham, displayed her award-winning cake-decorating talents. The Great British Bake Off winner Frances Quinn also made an appearance, along with MasterChef winner Shelina Permalloo.

Events Manager Kim Mundy said: “The weekend was a triumph and our most successful yet. Without our partners and sponsors, including Hewitsons, it wouldn’t have been possible.”

The festival has been running every year since 2015. For the second year running, law firm Hewitsons, which has offices in Billing Road, Northampton, as well as in Milton Keynes, Cambridge and London, co-sponsored the event.

Hewitsons Partner Gareth Williams said: “Every year, the Althorp Food and Drink Festival just gets better and better. It’s always a fantastic celebration of Northamptonshire’s amazing food and drink producers, whom we are always delighted to support.”

Hewitsons will also be co-sponsoring the Althorp Literary Festival in October.
