DELIVERING excellence at a reasonable price has been the watchword of Tatnell Engineering for more than 35 years – with ongoing investment in the latest technology to ensure that happens.

In the competitive precision engineering sector, it’s important to ensure that components can be manufactured to meet the high demands of customers.

Managing Director Alfred Tatnell, who founded the Northampton company is 1980, is still involved in day-to-day operations, overseeing a workforce that has the experience and the equipment to work with a wide range of materials including carbon-based and stainless steels, titanium, brass, copper and plastics from basic nylons to peek.

Services available at the business based at the Lyttleton Road site include conventional turning and milling, CNC turning and milling, auto-tuned parts and CAD-CAM design.

Alf said: “We have continually invested in the latest equipment to ensure we can maintain a smooth and reliable process, as well as top quality manufacturing. Ever since our company was set up we have believed that it is important to deliver work to an exceptional standard at a competitive price.”

The company works with a wide range of clients including major players in the automotive and motor sport industries as well as chemical and packaging companies. The work can be anything from up-to-the-minute parts for high end motor sport clients to producing a must-have part for vintage cars and motorcycles.

Alf said: “We tailor all of our products to each of our customers’ requirements which means they can have the confidence that all the parts we create will meet their own needs.

“We work closely with sub-contractors to build good relationships which helps to ensure finishing such as plating and grinding work is completed quickly but without compromising on quality or price.”

Clients are able to discuss their own plans and design requirements to ensure the end product meets their expectations.
