In March 2014, Dachser invested approximately ?26 million in their state-of-the-art Northampton Logistics Centre on Brackmills Industrial Estate. This facility provides 10,560 square metres of contract logistics warehouse space with capacity to store in excess of 20,000 pallets. The site also comprises a transhipment hall of 5,94 square metres and is home to the UK regional office. The branch in Northampton currently employs 250 staff, servicing contracts within a range of industry sectors including wine and spirits, food, packaging, industrial machinery and DIY.
Over recent years, the UK contract logistics division has achieved significant levels of growth. In support of both the company’s development and the growth of existing customers, Dachser made a substantial investment in opening a second dedicated multi-user contract logistics facility in January 2019. This new facility is strategically located adjacent to the existing Northampton Logistics Centre and provides customers with a further 15,272 square metres of warehousing capacity and 21,000 pallet spaces. Whilst developing and strengthening Dachser’s contract logistics presence in the UK market, the new facility enhances Dachser’s service offering and logistics supply chain capabilities.
