Supporting a team with driving ambition

BRACKLEY-based manufacturing firm, Dura, have become the latest company to pledge their support of motorsport’s most inspirational team.

Dura, which has its HQ in the town and a factory in Plymouth, manufactures and supplies modular furniture for workshops, and has supplied the team with its top of the range workshop cabinets.

The team’s drivers are disabled and it is aiming to be the first ever all-disabled team to race in the Le Mans 24 Hour race. Its headquarters and workshop is based at Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey, and is home to the team’s fleet of cars, all fitted with its world-leading hand controls which enable its drivers to compete on a level playing field.

Many of the team’s drivers are injured military troops, and together with their civilian team mates, are looking to make history at Le Mans, whilst revolutionising the motorsport industry.

The team hit a new milestone recently with the launch of its Racing Academy, offering any disabled driver in the UK the chance to access race coaching and tuition.

Driver Nicolas Hamilton, the first disabled driver to race in the British Touring Car Championship, attended the launch at the team’s base and demonstrated the hand controls in its Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT4.

Managing Director of Dura, Dominic Wishlade said: “Team Brit is indeed truly inspirational as was evident by the reaction of our own installation engineers, who were blown away when they came to install the cabinets at their set-up in Dunsfold. We are really proud to be associated with them and excited to follow their progress!”

Team BRIT Founder and CEO, Dave Player said: “We’re extremely grateful to Dominic and everyone at Dura for their generosity.

“Our engineers are working tirelessly to keep our cars in top condition, whilst also working with the world’s leading technology to make sure our drivers can compete at the highest level.

“Having the best kit and equipment to work with is so important, and receiving support like this means we can use our funds to get as much track time as possible and continue our journey towards Le Mans.”
