BUSINESS people needing to resolve a legal issue value the experience of corporate/commercial specialists Kemsley & Company.

The law firm, headed by Caroline Kemsley-Pein, has built a reputation for focusing entirely on work in the corporate/commercial sector.

This approach brings real benefits to clients looking for practical advice on issues such as buying or selling a business, investing in a business, formalising arrangements between shareholders or needing to draw up commercial agreements.

The firm’s recent move to Harborough Innovation Centre is giving the team an opportunity to work with new and existing clients at their new offices.

Caroline, who is London-trained, as are the firm’s associate solicitors Sarah Peppiatt and Candy Weston, believes that clients value their specialist knowledge.

“By working in a niche area we can offer the best advice and support to clients,” said Caroline. “We are able to focus on corporate and commercial work which means that we have the experience and knowledge which can really benefit clients. Some corporate or commercial matters can be challenging and a specialist is able to use their in-depth knowledge to give the best practical legal advice. Clients value the personal approach that we can offer as a niche/specialist firm.”

The initial meeting is free for clients and this session gives Caroline an opportunity to assess the work that needs to be done.

“We believe in giving realistic, competitive quotes and ensuring that clients are aware of all the cost implications from the outset,” said Caroline.

This openness has enabled Caroline to continue to work with clients since setting up the firm in 1996. Many of the firm’s clients are based locally (often with global interests) and other clients operate outside the region.

Caroline said: “Our expertise means that we attract clients who are looking for a specific type of law firm. Some are small or medium-sized enterprises but others are larger corporates who might need specialist advice on a particular legal issue.  Where we are not able to advise in relation to a particular matter we have built up a network of other specialists to whom we are happy to refer clients.”
