Playing host to new technology

CELEBRATING its 25th year, Welcomm Communications of Market Harborough, has come a long way since its initial mobile retail presence in 1989.

A lot of its growth and success since then has largely been due to its passion to deliver a single, unified communications service to its customers, which allows them to manage their mobile, fixed, data, voice and now hosted services.

Hosted, also known as cloud services, has had a significant growth within the business sector within the last 12 months, as companies begin to realise the potential and cost savings it can provide.

Sharing and storing data and information in the cloud is not a new thing, as many people having been using Facebook, Dropbox and other similar sites to share images and store documents for some time now.

But for many businesses the fear of security meant it wasn’t considered as a viable option. Ironically, the security and disaster recovery features that hosted services like Microsoft Office 365 offer, are far more superior than many in-house services.

Aware that customers were keen to find out more about this service and its features, Welcomm hosted its first Microsoft Office 365 briefing event last month. This gave customers the opportunity to see how this service could fit within their own business structure and to get the advice from a Microsoft specialist.

Following the success of this event, Welcomm is now arranging a second briefing at the end of July, located at its head office in Market Harborough. This free briefing is open to Business Times readers, allowing your business, whether small or large, to gain more information about migrating or adopting elements of a hosted, digital strategy into their business.

With over 70 staff, Welcomm is now one of the largest O2 Centre of Excellence partners in the country and one of the bigger communication providers in the Midlands. To support its continued growth, Welcomm is currently recruiting, to bring in additional account managers and specialist staff, to bolster and support its expanding hosted service portfolio.
