THE Harborough District Council Economic Development Team has seen a great deal going on recently.
The Economic Development Strategy has been updated – it outlines the council’s vision over the next three years – and the team are now working towards achieving the objectives set out within it. Over the next three years, they aim to develop and improve business engagement; attract inward investment into the area, develop the tourism economy further and help create better links between our schools and businesses
Meet the MPs
Harborough District Council is holding two free events, called Meet the MP. The first event will be held on Friday, 20 July, at the Harborough Innovation Centre between 7.30am and 10am with Neil O’Brien MP.
The second event will be held on Friday, 14 September at Lutterworth Town Hall between 7.30am and 10am with Alberto Costa MP.
Both events will provide an opportunity for businesses to be updated on and question the MPs about current national Government policies and practice. In addition, attendees will receive updates from the Harborough District Council Economic Development Team and Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership. All this while enjoying a morning coffee and business networking.

Innovative loyalty app to boost local retailers and tourism
Harborough District Council is helping launch an innovative digital loyalty scheme, called LoyalFree, which helps boost business for retailers and the tourism sector within the district through an online loyalty scheme. The app is free to download to smartphones and includes local guides. Over 50 local businesses have already signed up, with many more expected to join over the coming weeks. Pioneer10 programme
Pioneer10 workshops offer free practical business planning with tools used by the business elite.
