BRI Business Recovery & Insolvency
I AM sure for all that play golf, hitting the ball off track and into the rough calls for a thoughtful recovery shot to get back on the fairway. Simply hitting and hoping for the best is, generally, not the best option. The same thoughtful process is required when a company’s financial position is ‘in the rough’.
During 2019, Northampton Insolvency Practitioners BRI Business Recovery and Insolvency helped a number of companies deal with recovery assignments, both formal and informal, whilst still organising and enjoying their monthly golf society (BRIGS).
BRIGS is a long-standing golf society and will be in its 19th year in 2020. BRIGS will continue to take place on every second Wednesday of the month between February and November, missing June (given BRI’s annual golf day) and will be held at various courses in Northamptonshire. The cost is subsidised at £20.40 per person with coffee on arrival, nine holes with coffee and bacon roll afterwards – attendees are able to be back in the office by 11am.
A league system is run (which tends to help enhance the competitive nature of some attendees!) and BRIGS is played in a fun and relaxed atmosphere with prizes for the winner and a nearest the pin up for grabs.
Whilst team members at BRI enjoy meeting local business professionals at BRIGS and, given our golfing ability, play a significant amount of recovery shots in golf, it is the ‘day job’ of helping businesses in financial difficulty recover that is most rewarding.
