Specialist role announced

STEVE Cosford, healthcare director at MHA MacIntyre Hudson, has been approved as a member of the Association of Independent Specialist Medical Accountants (AISMA).

Steve has been an accountant for 30 years, assisting general medical practitioners with their financial and business planning needs. At MHA MacIntyre Hudson he leads a team that works closely with GP partnerships, GP Federation companies and associated businesses including GP-owned pharmacies and locum companies.

AISMA represents a national network of over 75 firms providing expert advice to medical practices, sessional GPs and hospital doctors. To qualify as an AISMA accountant, members must meet demanding requirements set by the association, including regular peer reviews to ensure standards are upheld.

MHA MacIntyre Hudson provides a range of specialist services to healthcare practices and professionals including accounting, tax planning, business structuring and succession planning, as well as personal finance guidance, for example on NHS pensions.

James Gransby, Head of Healthcare at MHA MacIntyre Hudson said: “We’re proud to announce Steve’s membership with an association as reputable as AISMA. The association’s accountants are among the top advisers on the accounting, finance, tax, practice management and pension issues affecting doctors today, and Steve’s involvement reflects our commitment to provide high quality services to the healthcare sector.”
