A focus on sales

HAVING expanded its range of fork-lift trucks and specialist lifting equipment after becoming part of Briggs Equipment, Hitec Lift Trucks in Wellingborough has responded by extending its sales force.

Simon Howes joined the sales team late last year and has recently been joined by sales executive Paul Stiff. The team is set to grow again this month when another new sales recruit, Lukas Blackwell, joins the ranks.

The Finedon Road firm became part of Briggs last year, and began representing the Hyster brand, increasing the range of machines available. As one of the leading fork-lift trucks and materials handling equipment dealerships in the region, Hitec can provide niche access platform and lifting equipment, available for sale or hire, either on long-term or short-term hire, to fill an urgent need for extra equipment at busy periods or for use in specific situations.

Managing Director, Prospero Girardi, said: “Now that we have further opportunities available to us as part of Briggs Equipment, we need to capitalise on that and so we’re focusing at the moment on developing the sales team.

“Simon has already made good progress and now that Paul has joined him and Lukas is about to come on board, the sales department under the direction of Sales Director Adam Lantsbery are in a good position to work on increasing our customer base and better serve the needs of our existing clients. The impetus of that growing team, backed up by Marketing Administrator Hannah Newman, will drive the company forward.”

The core of Hitec’s business has always been fork-lift trucks for sort or long term hire or sale – as well as meeting the training needs of customers – alongside niche access platform, lifting and specialist manual handing equipment. Hitec has recently added two new 15.8 metre scissor lifts to its fleet.

Prospero added: “Our customers benefit from access to a wide range of machines, many that we simply weren’t able to provide before, because we are now part of a big organisation. As a company, we can take advantage of the product training, resources and support that being part of Briggs allows us.”
