A month of excitement

HOME Instead East Northants enjoyed a tremendous amount of excitement in September, including find out the firm was runner-up in the SME Northamptonshire Business Awards Community Business of the Year.

Having started community work over two years ago, Marie Franks and Lucy Darnell are very proud of the Companionship Cafes, dementia stands and Otago chair-based exercise classes that have made a great difference to people in the East Northants area.

Home Instead East Northants will also be recognised at the National Home Instead Conference in November as the No 1 Home Instead in the UK.

The firm has also had the added excitement of its first national TV advertisement campaign, telling Stanley’s story of the #ThirdStair. Which was very exciting as one of the first home care companies to have a TV campaign.

Food Nutrition & Support, Wednesday 13 November from 5.30 to 7.30pm

If you are caring for elderly friends/family and looking for advice on food nutrition, the session will have plenty of advice. I Cook, You Serve will be on hand to answer any questions.

The Be A Santa To A Senior campaign launches on 11 November and Home Instead East Northants will be collecting gifts to give to older people who will be on their at Christmas.

The gifts this year will be going to local British Legion veterans with no family, elderly patients who have no family at Kettering General Hospital and the Salvation Army in Kettering. It is such a great cause to be able to give back to the community.

According to Age UK, more than two million people in England over the age of 75 live alone and more than a million older people say they go for over a month without speaking to a friend, neighbour or family member.

The campaign aims to make a difference in a small way by giving a gift to the elderly in the community to give comfort that they have not been forgotten at Christmas, and to put a To support the Be A Santa To A Senior campaign this, get in touch with Lucy Darnell or Marie Franks on 01933 678775.
