A twist on the traditional

IF there are two traditions that will always be quintessentially British, it’s a Sunday roast and an impressive afternoon tea.

Kettering Park Hotel is about to take both experiences to new levels with a number of features that will make relaxing with family and friends even more special.

Launching in August, Sunday Lunch at the hotel will feature a Carving Trolley with roast beef and all the trimmings – including Yorkshire puddings and traditional beef gravy – ready to be carved at the table.

The accompanying roast potatoes and fresh vegetables will be served ‘family style’ so that everyone can help themselves.

For those who are looking for something different, there will be other choices available, all based on classic British dishes ‘with a twist’, plus the Chef’s Table, where guests help themselves from a selection of fresh seafood, artisan cured meats and seasonal salads.

To finish off Sunday lunch in style, there will be a selection of traditional puddings, from steamed and baked puddings to lighter choices, depending on the season, and a range of ice-cream sundaes.

A children’s menu featuring mini versions of the main dishes, along with some special choices just for the little ones, will also be on offer.

Afternoon Tea has been popular at Kettering Park Hotel for some years now, but the restaurant tea are planning to raise the bar in terms of offering something different and unusual. Hot pancakes with different seasonal accompaniments are being introduced, along with an updated selection of savoury items. The hotel’s membership of the Tea Guild will guarantee a properly-brewed, quality hot drink at all times.

Andrew Hollett, General Manager of Kettering Park Hotel, said: “Sunday lunch and afternoon tea are always popular and we want to make sure our guests get a memorable experience.

“Both occasions are a time to sit down with family and friends and just enjoy an experience, with good food and lots of chat. We’re collecting a selection of classic games, so guests can arrive early or stay on a while afterwards and spend some real quality time together. No batteries or electricity required!”
