Acquisition extends services

INDEPENDENT Scania dealer, TruckEast Ltd, has purchased Northampton-based ST Fleet Services for an undisclosed sum.

Announcing details of the latest acquisition, Graham Broughton, TruckEast’s regional Aftersales Director – West said: “ST Fleet have a great reputation in the area supporting local fleet operators. Their specialism in trailer repairs and servicing comes as a welcome addition into our business.”

Established over 30 years ago and operating as a family run business, ST Fleet Services are specialists in trailer maintenance, with an eight-bay workshop and fleet of six mobile service vans. Services include trailer and truck inspections and repairs, MOT preparation, brake roller testing and an on-site vehicle wash. Over the years they have supported customers such as third party fleet operators by offering extras such as local collection and delivery as well as emergency call out repairs.

During the acquisition, business has continued as usual for its staff and customer base. Matt Thomas, son of previous owner Steve Thomas, will continue to run the day-to-day operation in the role of General Manager, whilst the trading name will change to ST Fleet.

“Former customers and indeed employees of ST Fleet Services can rest assured of a seamless transfer of ownership that will leave them in the safest of hands,” added Graham.

The sale, completed in early February, complements TruckEast’s existing specialist services portfolio. Since 2004, when TruckEast first launched its specialist service division, it has continued to expand, due to customer demand, into what it is today. As well as its 14 commercial workshops throughout the eastern counties, TruckEast offers a range of mobile solutions for the transport industry including; tail-lift repairs, trailer, tanker and municipal services as well as a dedicated recovery fleet.
