Awards follow refurbishment

RECENT refurbishment and the addition of 11 new bedrooms has paid off for the Olde Coach House in Ashby St Ledgers, which has recently received an AA 4 star rating for its bedroom accommodation and an AA Dining award for the quality of its food.

In June last year, the converted stables at OCH opened with 11 new boutique bedrooms following a fire in 2012 in what was then the old staff house.

The new en-suite rooms are all individually designed with the facilities you would expect from a top hotel but located in the converted stables of this lovely country inn

The new en-suite rooms are all individually designed with the facilities you would expect from a top hotel but located in the converted stables of this lovely country inn.

All the rooms have a modern look, with Porcelanosa bathrooms, and are equipped with rain showers, flat screen TVs, direct dial telephones, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, luxury toiletries, fluffy bathrobes, heated towel rails, pillow menu, iPod charger, comfortable beds, free Kit Kats and free wifi.

The 11 new bedrooms complement the existing four en-suite bedrooms, giving the OCH a total of 15 letting bedrooms.

Mark Butler the owner of OCH said: “Obviously the fire in July 2012 was devastating, however I took the opportunity to convert the staff house to letting bedrooms, because our existing six bedrooms were always popular and we were constantly turning business away.

“With the help of Charles Wells Pub Company we invested £450,000 in building these unique bedrooms and I am delighted to say that they have really taken off, with the rooms nearly always fully booked Monday to Thursday with the corporate market and now I need to concentrate on developing the weekend leisure business.”

The OCH is a wonderful alternative to today’s sterile budget hotels and also offers a busy country pub, serving fresh local produce and Cask Marque award winning cask ales.
