TWO million pairs of safety shoes are sold each year by the TRIPAL Group, which has recently made a move to purpose built premises in Wellingborough.
The move to 16 Don White Road on the Finedon Road Industrial Estate comes just over twenty years since the business was set up – originally to design and supply safety shoes for clients branded to their own specifications. Since then the business has found a fresh focus successfully launching its own brands of workwear, specialist slip resistant safety shoes and outdoor footwear.

The move to 16 Don White Road on the Finedon Road Industrial Estate comes just over twenty years since the business was set up – originally to design and supply safety shoes for clients branded to their own specifications. Since then the business has found a fresh focus successfully launching its own brands of workwear, specialist slip resistant safety shoes and outdoor footwear.
Research and development is still at the heart of the business which is headed up by directors Mark Burman, Simon Poole and Michael Turner.
Simon said: “We are very knowledgeable about what we do and have more than 125 years of knowledge and experience.
“Since setting up in 1995 the company’s success has enabled us to grow and now with more employees we needed more space. The new purpose built building means we have been able to bring together all our operations on the one site. Previously the warehouse and offices were in different locations and we now have our own in-house laboratory.”
This gives the experienced team an opportunity to maintain and enhance its partnerships.
As well as their Technical manager being a member of the CEN/TC161 European Safety Standards Committee for foot and leg protectors, the group also have a collaboration agreement with Sheffield University with one of its Polymer Chemists working for the business.
Simon said: “There are many opportunities to continue to grow the brands both domestically but also encourage further growth into global markets.”
