Blooming good effort

MEMBERS of Borneo Martell Turner Coulston’s Private Client Team were delighted to support Marie Curie in March by collecting for them as part of this year’s Great Daffodil Appeal.

The Appeal, which has run since 1986, raises awareness and collects much needed funds to provide end-of-life care for the terminally ill.

It costs £20 for an hour of Marie Curie Nursing. Last year in Northamptonshire the seven Marie Curie Nurses provided 4,009 hours of care and helped care for 149 patients but they could not have done so without the generosity of the public.

Volunteers from the firm: Susan Owens, Clare de Banke, Kathryn Frisby, Isobel Mann, Caroline Arnold and Ellie Tomson, each dressed in the bright colours of Marie Curie and Springtime, and took turns with collection boxes in Northampton’s Grosvenor Centre between 9am and 3pm.

Laura Foy, Community Fundraiser for Marie Curie in Northamptonshire, said: “The Great Daffodil Appeal is Marie Curie’s flagship fundraising campaign. As a charity we have ambitious fundraising targets to ensure we can continue to fund more nursing care in the local community.

“We simply would not be able to achieve success and make an impact without the phenomenal help we have from volunteers. We are really grateful to the staff at Borneo Martell Turner Coulston for volunteering for a whole day at the Grosvenor Shopping Centre! Their collecting efforts raised a fantastic £213.08 which funds a full night of specialist nursing care for someone living with a terminal illness.”
