Bricks and mortar a lucrative option

IN a world of ongoing uncertainty there is a temptation to sit tight but property pundits believe investing in bricks and mortar is still a lucrative option.

The latest findings from Halifax UK Housing Market Outlook show that while this year predicts a slowdown in house price rises, there is still money to be made for the right investments.

Ausra Uzukauskaite, owner of Amber Properties, a letting agent based in Northampton, said: "It is easy to fall in to the trap of thinking everything is doom and gloom but early signs in 2017 show this is just not the case. Investing in property might not be for the fainthearted but we can offer expertise to those individuals either looking to invest for the first time or looking to expand their property portfolio."

One of the challenges is to select the right property. The professional knowledge of the team at Amber Properties, which works across Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes, can prove invaluable. The agency works with people looking to buy, rent or let including landlords with HMO properties.

Ausra said: "In this area there is real demand for good-quality homes to let which is good for landlords. Many people might believe it is worthwhile sitting tight as there are those who believe that the growth cannot be sustained and prices must soon start to fall again. The research shows this is not the case and there are no signs of a downturn.

"The housing market is currently surviving Brexit and the reduction in interest rates has made mortgages the most affordable they have been for many years. All indications show that 2017 will be another good year for the property market."

Amber Properties is one of the few agencies in the area specialising in HMO management services and offers a wide range of benefits, including marketing of the property with accompanied viewings and pre-screening of applicants including complete reference checks of prospective tenants and guarantors, if this is required. The package can also include advice on insurance, rent collection, regular property inspections and preparation of a detailed inventory.

The agency is based at Regents Pavilion, 4 Summerhouse Road on Northampton’s Moulton Park Industrial Estate.
