PEOPLE have and always will be at the heart of Lonsdale Direct Solutions, the Wellingborough-based print and marketing service business that is celebrating its centenary in 2017.
The printer/marketing services provider specialises in commercial print, direct mail and specialist print finishing, and values its unique partnerships with clients many stretching back over the generations.
The 100th anniversary represents an opportunity for the team, based on the town’s Denington Industrial Estate, to continue its commitment to the town which has been its base since the early days.
Jonathan Marriott, Commercial Director, said: “While we are 100 years old, we are still a developing business and have, this year, invested more than £200,000 in new booklet and digital finishing equipment, and have updated our digital print equipment to the flagship Canon 10000vp presses. We also have more exciting developments set to be announced later this year.”
To celebrate the 100-year milestone the employees have taken it upon themselves to undertake one community-based activity per month throughout 2017.
The initiative enables the 85 staff members to take on a wide range of challenges to support local good causes.
Jonathan said: “As Wellingborough has played an important part in our history we wanted to give something back to the local community.”
“We are delighted that the Monthly 100-year Challenge is giving our staff an opportunity to come up with some fun and original ideas to make a difference in the community.
“So far, we’ve donated plants to Warwick Pre-school in the town and helped the children plant their garden, and we’ve collected in excess of 200 Easter Eggs for the Chelsea’s Angels charity. Later this year, we’ll be walking 100 miles in aid of epilepsy charity PCDH19 Alliance.”
