Digital grants available

GRANTS and training courses for businesses looking to expand through digital technology are available through an exciting scheme being run by Northamptonshire County Council.

Focusing mainly on SMEs, the council, in conjunction with the Northamptonshire Growth Hub and the University of Northampton, will be offering grants of up to £5,000 towards up to half of the cost of introducing innovative and enterprising digital technology.

Funded by the European Regional Development Fund, the scheme will also include a range of workshops to help businesses understand more about digital services such as CRM programs and data management, the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and website analytics.

Peter Hollingsworth, Digital Advisor at the Northamptonshire Growth Hub, said: “We’re aiming mainly at start-ups and small to medium size businesses, but we’ve also had interest from more established companies who need help with embracing digital technology.

“The fact is that a lot of businesses have systems in place, or are looking to put systems in place, but don’t really understand what would be most appropriate for their business needs. The workshops are designed to not only pass on the experiences of the experts delivering the course, but also give companies the chance to network and learn from the experiences of others who’ve been in the same position.”

Applications for the grants are welcomed from any Northamptonshire based firm with a digital project that is designed to stimulate business growth and job creation. Applicants must commit to at least match the funding.
