Ease of access to expertise

ISUZU truck owners can now turn to an experienced service dealer conveniently located in Northampton.

Wrights Commercials, based on the outskirts of Northampton, have teamed up with Peterborough-based Imperial Commercials, which took over the area’s Isuzu truck franchise in early 2016.

The new arrangement means that Isuzu truck owners can now use the easily accessible service dealer rather than make a trip to the Peterborough base of Imperial Commercials, which is part of the largest independent commercial vehicle dealer group in the UK.

The formation of the partnership started with a chance visit to Wrights Commercials by Steve Affleck, Regional Director, and Truck Sales Executive Andy Beckett, both of Imperial Commercials.

They met up with Richard Sharpe, who a year ago, with fellow director Gavin Greatorex, took over the long-established business at Old Station Yard, Cogenhoe, which is a few minutes’ drive from the A45 and close to the M1 and A14.

The men soon realised they shared the same approach to business and customer service and months later the arrangement got approval from Isuzu Truck UK, which has been doing business with the Peterborough enterprise for six years.

Steve said: “We knew there was a need for a service dealer in Northampton but we have taken our time looking for the right partnership. We believe customers will appreciate that Wrights Commercials, like ourselves, have very high standards.

“This new arrangement will bring real benefits to customers in the Northampton area.”

This latest development is positive news for Wrights Commercials, which has found a new lease of life since the change of ownership. The company’s reputation for excellent customer service remains a priority across all its services which alongside the workshop include truck and van hire and container self-storage.

The experienced team at the well-equipped workshop undertakes all repair and maintenance work on vans, heavy commercial vehicles, coaches and buses. This includes diagnostics and complete welding and fabrication work.

Richard said: “We are delighted with the new arrangement with Isuzu Truck and look forward to working with customers of Imperial Commercials.”

JAPANESE vehicle manufacturers Isuzu Motors, which celebrated its centenary in 2016, takes pride in its pioneering development of commercial, light commercial and 4×4 SUV Vehicles.

The company has a rich and interesting history in vehicle design especially in the 3.5 tonne to 12 tonne sector. Its current range enabled Isuzu to achieve record-breaking sales in 2014.

Andy Beckett, Truck Sales Executive at Imperial Commercials, said: “Our customers are looking for vehicles that are tough, strong and built to go the distance. They want a competitively priced vehicle which is very robust and can do the job.

“It will mean a lot to our customers that they now have access to a professional, well-equipped service workshop in the Northampton area.”

All Isuzu vehicles are sold with a three-year unlimited mileage warranty. The partnership means Isuzu truck owners using Wrights Commercials can take advantage of competitive offers from Imperial Commercials including savings on replacement genuine parts from its extensive stock.

Andy said: “All vehicles need regular maintenance and our customers appreciate the after-care support they receive which means time isn’t lost waiting for a new part to get the vehicle back on the road.”
