Easter egg treats for a local charity

A NETWORKING group in Peterborough have donated over 60 Easter eggs to a Corby-based charity Action for Asperger’s.

The eggs will be distributed to clients who attend Action for Asperger’s counselling therapy, many of whom are between the ages of three and 10 with an autism spectrum disorder. The founder and chairman Elaine Nicholson MBE said: “Some of our clients have received their eggs already and have been bowled over by BNI’s support of our little-big charity! Autism is an often-forgotten or ignored cause, yet it affects one in 100 individuals.

“In BNI there are three members whose families are affected by autism or Asperger’s syndrome. It is comfortingly reassuring that BNI Synergy has continued to support our cause – this is now the third year and we cannot be more delighted.”

Elaine also sees the benefits of such a group in terms of providing a one-stop shop for many of the charity’s needs, from stationery to getting the kitchen tap fixed.
