Essential improvements continue

LOCAL quantity surveyors, project managers and employer’s agent, Gotch Saunders and Surridge LLP (GSSllp), whose head office is in Kettering, are proud to currently be assisting in the delivery of a number of key projects at Kettering General Hospital, including the cost management of several essential emergency adaption projects required to prepare the hospital for the COVID-19 pandemic.

Other projects that GSSllp are currently working on at the hospital include the new Cardiac Investigations Unit, refurbishment of the Cath Labs, improvements and upgrades to the mammography department, Gamma Camera facilities and the construction of a glazed walkway to the Maxillofacial Unit.

The Cath Labs refurbishment works, currently on site, are necessary in order to facilitate the installation of new examination equipment, which will in turn increase the capabilities of the current department and improve the services the hospital can offer its patients.

GSSllp have completed a number of projects with the Trust over recent times, and with a relationship dating back over 100 years to when the hospital was first established, these projects are just the latest improvements to the site that GSSllp have helped to deliver. Some of these recently completed projects include extensions and alterations to the Frank Radcliffe Fracture Clinic, the relocation of the Dermatology unit to Prospect House and most recently, Phase 2 of the works to the new Maxillofacial Unit at the hospital, which provide much improved office and staff welfare facilities for those working within the unit.

Elsewhere in the county, GSSllp have recently been employed as employers agent and quantity surveyor in order to help successfully deliver a new out-of-town retail parade in Corby. The development, located at the Southern Gateway, has recently opened to the public and involved the construction of a number of units, which include international brands such as McDonald’s, Costa Coffee and Domino’s Pizza, thus providing a further range of retail and food amenities to the south of Corby.

GSSllp are also delighted to have been successfully appointment to the Milton Keynes Council framework, for project management and quantity surveying services. In addition to the numerous projects Milton Keynes Council have advised will be procured through the framework over the coming months, it will also bring some further exciting opportunities for the practice, as it can be used by other local authority bodies, such as the emergency services.
