Facility that’s there for everyone

GROWTH has been a feature of Midshires Electrical and Lighting for some years now – both in terms of floor space and workforce – and now the trade counter has been overhauled to ensure customers have everything they need, when they need it.

The firm’s headquarters in Hartburn Close on the Crow Lane Industrial Estate now occupy around 15,000 square feet of space since the acquisition of neighbouring units in recent years to cope with the growing team and the increased demand for storage space.

Now the trade counter has been extended to twice its original size and fully refurbished so that the team can provide its comprehensive range of lighting and electrical products over the counter.

Service Manager Craig Rose said: “We are always busy, with contractors calling in to pick up orders or additional items they might need, but people don’t always realise that we sell direct to the trade and public via the trade counter.

“The company is going from strength to strength and we stock a wide range of quality products and having a bigger and better trade counter just made sense.”

Midshires provides lighting and electrical products for a wide range of projects for construction and housebuilding firms, retailers and schools across the UK.

A workforce of 30-plus ensures that the level of service the team at Midshires prides itself on is maintained, while specialists in all sector of its business mean that the best advice and products is always available to Midshires customers, whatever their project.

Managing Director Ben Fountain said: “We decided to create specialist divisions so that customers always got expert advice and guidance, whatever their needs. That applies to the trade counter, too, where the team have the knowledge to suggest and recommend products, available in small or larger amounts, to a wider range of customers.”

The new trade counter was officially opened on November 8 and Northamptonshire batsman Steve Crooks was on hand to cut the ribbon. Steve was accompanied by Northamptonshire County Cricket chairman Gavin Warren.

Ben Fountain said: “We’re proud to be involved with Steve and his team-mates at our county cricket club and we were grateful to him for sparing the time to come down and celebrate the opening of the new trade counter.”
