Gift to help lighten charity’s load

IN the run up to Christmas last year, Midshires Electrical & Lighting ran a competition for customers to win £1,500 for a chosen charity. Once again, instead of handing out corporate gifts to clients, Midshires decided to ask customers to suggest a good cause and draw one name out of the hat to decide where the money would go.

Managing Director, Ben Fountain said: “It’s a chance to make a real difference, rather than giving a box of chocolates or a bottle of alcohol that gets forgotten about.”

The charity chosen, suggested by Sue, Carol and Michell, the team at NME Electrical Services was JDRF – Diabetes UK, a charity close to NME’s hearts.

Bernadette who is the regional fundraiser for JDRF Midlands travelled to Midshires to receive the generous donation and a warm welcome. She explained that donations like this can make a great difference and thanked NME and Midshires on behalf of JDRF Charity.

“Thank you for your fundraising on behalf of JDRF and your commitment to helping us find the cure,” she said.

NME are continuing their fundraising in aid of JDRF in April, when Andy Pell from NME will be taking part in the London Marathon, and will continue to spread awareness for the JDRF cause.
