Headed up by award-winning managing director, Lara Ayris, WPS works with construction companies, architects, surveyors, etc., providing them with the constructive assistance to attain the necessary BREEAM accreditations, satisfaction of planning conditions and required scores for CCS assessments.
Whether environmental management systems, noise, dust and vibration reports, pre-demolition/refurbishment audits, local procurement and labour strategies, or other BREEAM standards are required, WPS will either undertake it in-house or outsource to one of its trusted suppliers, making it a one-stop shop for construction companies.
WPS also offers a range of environmental services and consultancy to the waste industry, including permit applications and variations, fire prevention plans and working plans and in September, WPS will start to export its services, beginning with the Netherlands.
Through its training and consultancy arm, WPS delivers flexible offerings to meet a wide variety of requirements, as well as off-the-peg training and bespoke training development. It has recently launched a course for those who would like to do more themselves, called Construction Site Environmental & Compliance Impacts, which is designed for senior site management personnel working in the built environment, helping develop their knowledge, skills and experience in the ever-increasing area of site environmental and compliance impacts. The next course is being run in September.
What’s more, Waste Plan Solutions, as lead partner of a consortium including the University of West England, the University of Coventry and Sustainable Direction Ltd, has recently won an Innovate UK grant to part fund an £800,000 project on planning for building deconstruction, called Deconstruction and Recovery Information Modelling (DRIM).
