Having fun fundraising

TWO charity events organised by insolvency specialists PBC Business Recovery and Insolvency have raised a considerable sum for a charity that helps parents stay close to their sick children.

PBC has raised £3,761 for Ronald McDonald House Charities thanks to a quiz night in March followed by a golf day in September.

In March, Greens’ Restaurant at Collingtree Park was filled with the sound of brains whirring as 13 teams did battle at the charity quiz in aid of Ronald McDonald House at Alder Hey.

The winners were Cottons Accountants, with a score of 133 out of a possible 150, with Clifford Roberts taking second place only one point behind in a good night for the accountants.

The sun shone on Overstone Golf Club in September when PBC’s Golf Day was supported by a great bunch of local businesses and professionals.

PBC hosted 12 teams of mixed ability golfers. Scoring was good with a number of players under handicap. Pink was the colour of the day when it came to the Team Ball competition. The pressure of the Pink Ball took its toll on 10 out of the 12 teams as only two pink balls made it home.

Gary Pettit, Managing Director of PBC, said: “The two events were in aid of Ronald McDonald Charity Houses, which provide a place for parents to stay in a home environment, close to where their children are in hospital, something we feel is a very worthy cause.

“We would like to thank all those who attended and contributed to the success of both events.”
