Hitting new heights

GENUINELY reaching new heights this year, Hitec Lift Trucks in Wellingborough has added two new 15.8 metre scissor lifts to its already extensive portfolio.

Over the past 12 months some 10 to 12 new pieces of equipment have been added to the range at Hitec, giving customers easy access to not only fork lift trucks but also a comprehensive fleet of access platform and lifting equipment to suit all requirements.

The new scissor lifts will meet the needs of customers working on high buildings such as modern warehouses and storage depots.

Prospero Girardi, Managing Director of Hitec, said: “Making a building higher is a cost-effective way of using ground space and so new warehousing units are being built with that in mind. These scissor lifts that reach over 15 metres are going to be in demand in these buildings, particularly when there’s maintenance and repairs to be done.

“Our training division offers full IPAF training, either on site or off site, so that customers can make full use of the new equipment.”

Hitec can provide equipment for sale or hire, on either a long or short-term basis, to fill an urgent need for extra equipment at busy periods or for use in specific situations. In order to ensure customers can take full advantage, the company offers courses in fork-lift driving, IPAF, Pasma, driver CPC, first aid, gantry crane, manual handling, and Hiab as well as forklift instructor courses.

Last year saw Hitec become a part of Briggs Equipment, representing the Hyster brand and extending the range of machines it could make available to customers.

Being part of this new parent company also allows Hitec to offer customers a nationwide service.

“We have local customers who are carrying out work across the UK and they can benefit from us being part of Briggs Equipment,” added Prospero. “Wherever the work is being carried out, they can deal with us locally and have the equipment delivered to their site wherever it is in the country. Just one of the benefits of our being part of a large organisation.”

Later this year, Hitec Lift Trucks will once again be providing the handling equipment needed to set up major trade event Vertikal Days.

The show is a major European showcase for lifting and handling equipment, predominantly access platforms and cranes, and Hitec has been asked to provide the fork lift trucks and handling equipment needed to set up the show including the loading and unloading of marquees and stalls for the open air event.

Once the show, which will be held at Donington Park in Leicestershire on 15 and 16 May, is set up, Hitec will also be exhibiting.
