Innovation opens new doors

HIGH standards of customer care have been influential in the growth of MileX Engineering, the Corby-based industrial door specialists celebrating its tenth anniversary.

The company has found success through focusing on the provision and maintenance of high-quality industrial doors. This mission to become the market leader in this specialist sector continues to bring success.

A £100,000 contract and an agreement with Leicestershire Fire Service to provide maintenance and support to its stations across the county are just a few of the success stories for MileX Engineering.

The company’s high standards have seen it work as a preferred trade partner with specialist door manufacturers Hormann. This arrangement has meant ongoing work, including a recent deal with Toys “R’ Us bringing more work to MileX.

Robert Vizma, who set up the company ten years ago, believes this ongoing success lies in the team’s ability to offer a flexible service.

“We have a dedicated team of qualified and experienced door systems engineers and have built a reputation for providing an excellent service,” said Rob. “We set high standards of customer care not only in the installation but the repair, maintenance and servicing of existing doors.”

A move to larger premises in Corby has enabled the company to make the most of its opportunities to expand its complete bespoke service to clients across the country.

Each client is looking for industrial doors that will meet individual requirements.

The company has strong partnerships with leading industrial door manufacturers. The team are approved installers and suppliers of the complete Hormann Industrial product range and provide products from other respected suppliers including OCM, Italy, for which they are sole importers and agents. Investment in two scissor lifts, which are available for hire, brings additional benefits to customers.

Rob, along with the company’s finance director Donna Canale and Operations Manager Robert Zachman have put together an experienced team which can meet the demands of different clients. For some this could be a simple roller shutter to a complete loading bay system. High speed doors are another option which can be used across a range of applications where the need is for rapid access to keep a building’s environment and temperature as constant as possible.

The premises in MileX House, Dale Street, Corby, have given the company an opportunity to extend its product ranges in stock and improve its efficiency.

Rob said: “It is important that we are able to respond quickly and effectively to our clients and we feel the larger premises can make a real difference.”

The team is regularly looking for new products and, recently, tests have been under way on

a new type of anti-slip coating, developed for walkways and playgrounds. This new product has been on test in the industrial environment. MileX customers were chosen to run trials on dock levellers, steps, and walkways, with outstanding results. An order has been taken for 24 dock levellers locally and trials are under way at RS Components in Corby.

This new anti-slip product, which has a ten-year foot traffic guarantee and is available in 16 different colours, can be applied in under an hour with no odour. Logos or text can be included in the anti-slip surface.

The company values the chance to support the community and sponsor the away team shirts for Corby Town Ladies team.

Rob said “We are very proud of what we have been able to achieve and we are now looking forward to 2017 and the chance to work with existing and new clients.”
