AS I sit here, in my dressing gown, (too much information), surrounded by the boxes of my recent house move, early on the morning of Friday 15 December I am reflecting on the year now almost gone by.
It has been a good year. Simon Pickering, our Managing Director told me on several occasions, ‘that’s the last new employee for now’ and the next day proceeded to interview for another ‘new position we need’. The end result being to double the amount of staff we had last January. All necessary to grow the business by delighting our customers. And that is the point! Let’s not talk anymore about us, but about you, our clients, customers and even suppliers, and how we hope to delight you with service. So my thanks and thoughts at this time of year are going to those people and companies without whom we would not be in the position we are today.
Firstly, this morning’s rant was inspired by a certain Ashley Riley and his video series The Life of Riley. If you don’t receive it look him up, it’s worth it, though I am not sure that Donald Trump would get re-elected right now, Ashley. If you are looking to move house try Wardle & Keach, a family business established over a century ago, customers for 20 years and really nice people, so they tell me. They moved me into my new house where finding the right trades to carry out the renovation is always difficult but by recommendation I believe to have some of the best. Ashmac for groundworks – they are also digging for City Fibre – Rob Sanderson the plasterer, Gavin at Tag Electrical, Olly ORS Tiling, Adam at Baptist bathroom specialists, and Fraser James Furniture for the kitchen. All great companies and people I can personally recommend.
My thanks also go to all of our customers, Carlsberg, Vision Security Group, Briggs Equipment, Compass Group, Open University, Deane Roofing, Northampton Town Football Club, Northampton Saints Rugby Club and the countless other business’s who have supported us through the last two decades old and new!
The mince pies have been eaten, the last turkey sandwich consumed, an excessive amount of alcohol passed our lips and the tins of Quality Street are full of empty wrappers. Here’s to a happy and prosperous New Year and may I be the first to wish all of our clients, suppliers and friends a very Merry Christmas for 2018!
