WITH a vast amount of experience to offer, the team at Whitco Catering and Bakery Equipment is keen to feed that knowledge down to SMEs in Northamptonshire.
In November, the Thrapston company once again sponsored the Restaurant of the Year category of the Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards, which saw The Palmichael in Burton Latimer take the title for the second time, having also won it in 2016.
Vita Whitaker, Director of Whitco, said: "The standard of entry was so high and it was a very difficult decision for the judges but we were absolutely thrilled for The Palmichael. I hope they build on this and really drive forward because they really have something special there.
"Our aim for 2019 is to build our links with SMEs in the county. I always say that my own time is not billable, I am happy to give advice and guidance in any way I can to help a company. Whitco has worked on major projects around the UK and I can use that to the benefit of small, local firms."
Whitco is one of the leading suppliers of catering and baking equipment, including heavy catering equipment, bakery equipment and accessories, maintenance contracts, service agreements, replacement parts and emergency breakdown cover. The team also offers project management, a full design and build service including floors, walls and ceiling.
Laundry equipment, plug-in and table-top equipment, hygiene products, hot and cold food delivery systems, furniture, interior design and branding are among a range of other services.
At the end of the year that began sadly, with the death of Managing Director and founder Jeff Whitaker, Vita is proud of the way the Whitco team has responded: "We've come through a difficult year stronger than ever, our ability to respond has been tested and we have adapted and embraced change, we will go into the new year with a number of projects in the pipeline. But as a company where the 'WE CAN DO' motto sets us apart from others in everything we do, that will give us the chance to push on in a very positive way and marks the beginning of a new era for the business," added Vita.
