THERE is no stopping Wrefords Transport, the oldest, independent family run transport company in the United Kingdom. The Northampton-based haulier has proved once again why listening to their customers can make all the difference. This commitment to clients has brought fresh opportunities for the business including an opportunity to recruit drivers and members of the support team. This includes newly-appointed workshop administrator Caroline Hibbert who plays a critical role in ensuring the company’s fleet of just over 70 vehicles stays on the road by ensuring all documentation is current and the ATF lane is running efficiently. She works closely with the team including business development manager Maxine Thornton, who has returned to the company after a break of nearly two years. Maxine said: “There have been real challenges for the haulage industry in recent years but it is good to see that going forward we can take on new opportunities. Like most small/medium size hauliers we have certainly been through some difficult times but once again we are growing and feeling positive about the future. “Our customers really are our priority and it is this attitude that has enabled us to keep growing and thriving. The management team are committed to maintaining a competitive and successful business, overseeing developments and constant improvements.” The company is able to offer a wide range of services including haulage across the United Kingdom and Europe, with the capability of the team to arrange and monitor European import and export of road freight removing some of the pressure from their customers. The fleet has a wide range of vehicles including Moffett Mounted Rigids and Artics, Tall Curtain sided, Standard Curtain Sided and Box trailers and Skeletals. With our unique ‘Own Groupage’ operation able to cover the whole of mainland UK in any week, this is a perfect solution for those clients not wishing to go through standard ‘Networks’ where sometimes, damage and traceability can be an issue. Maxine said: “Our experience means we can handle the requirements of bigger clients but we also value enquiries from all customers who might want to consider account-based work or one-off haulage needs.” The management team is proud of the part it has played in the haulage industry since it was set up in 1904 and supports industry initiatives like The Road Haulage Association’s National Lorry Week. Maxine said: “It is important to us that we play our part in ensuring the haulage industry works to the highest standards and continue to move forward to meet changing conditions.” To find out more see the website at www.swwreford.co.uk or call 01604 761231.
