Looking bright for charity appeal

PARTNERS Sue Owens and Clare de Banke from Borneo Martell Turner Coulston were delighted to support Marie Curie again this year by collecting for the charity in Northampton’s Grosvenor Centre as part of this year’s Great Daffodil Appeal.

Sue and Clare stood out from the crowd wearing the bright colours of spring to raise much needed funds to provide end-of-life care for the terminally ill in their own homes.

The Appeal, which has run since 1986, is the charity’s biggest annual campaign and each March millions of people across the country make a small donation and wear a daffodil to support this fantastic cause.

It costs £20 for an hour of Marie Curie Nursing. Last year in Northamptonshire the seven Marie Curie Nurses provided 5,000 hours of care and helped care for 142 patients but they could not have done so without the generosity of the public.

Holly Carey, Community Fundraiser for Marie Curie in Northamptonshire, said: “We are so grateful that Borneo Martell Turner Coulston solicitors decided to support our Great Daffodil Appeal again this year.

“Chances are, we all know someone who’s been affected by a terminal illness. And it’s heart-breaking that not everyone gets the care and support they need to live their final days with dignity, in the place they want to be. Our nurses care for people in their own homes, providing one-to-one care overnight and support for family members. And we’re always here with expert information, guidance or just a shoulder to lean on.

“Every daffodil helps us care for more people – this is what makes the Great Daffodil Appeal so important”
