Lucky thirteen for local charities

A CHARITY golf day staged by a Wellingborough company raised £3,000 for local charities.

The event took place on Friday 21 July at Wellingborough Golf Club and was the thirteenth event organised by Chris Goddard of Goddard Warehousing and Goddard Self-Storage, based at the Furnace Lane Industrial Estate in Wellingborough.

The two chosen charities this year are Alopecia UK and Prostate Cancer and they will share the money raised – one of the largest totals in the history of the event.

Many local businesses and organisations attended and provided sponsorship, including competitions for outright winner, team winners, nearest the pin, nearest the pin in two and a beat the pro competition.

Chris Goddard said: “I would like to thank all our sponsors for making this possible and hope that next year more local businesses will wish to be involved along with any golfers in this prestigious annual event.”

The 2018 event is scheduled for 13 July and full details will be posted on the website -www.goddardselfstorage.co.uk – very soon.
