STANAIR, the Kettering-based industrial door services company, and Northamptonshire County Cricket Club have announced a new partnership as the 2013 season gets underway with Stanair being the first-ever sponsor of the club’s new mascot – Steeler the Dog.

Steeler was introduced to the players at the club’s press day and joined in with Kwik Kwicket matches on the County Ground pitch while the Disability side netted in the Lynn Wilson Centre. Club President Lord Naseby, who as Michael Morris was MP for Northampton South from 1974 to 1997, and Club Patron Earl Spencer were also in attendance on a day that the club announced a new website and revealed the 2013 kits.
“It is an exciting year ahead for the team and for the whole county,” said Stanair Director Martin Wall, who joined Steeler and the players for the launch. “Every other team in the UK has a mascot and it was time Northamptonshire had one. With Steeler, we have one of the best.

“As a company we believe that investing in our community is important. Not only will Steeler be ever-present on match days at the County Ground but he will be working alongside ourselves and young people across the county raising awareness about the club and the great game of cricket.”
