Moving forward despite uncertainty

DESPITE political uncertainties and a turbulent year throughout the UK business sector, Spectrum Powder Coaters Ltd have taken the decision to bite the bullet and invest in the latest technology.

The specialist powder coating company is headed up by Managing Director Chris Shannon, who said: “Is it the right time to invest? Who knows that answer, but one thing is very clear if you based your business around the uncertainty over the last few years then we wouldn’t achieve anything.

“We have to keep moving even in these uncertain times so that is why we have decided to invest heavily in the latest technology that will not only save us on our material usage but offer our customers a superior finish.”

The Daventry-based company recognises ongoing investment in the workforce is another key part of their success.

Chris said: “A full training programme will ensure our staff will have the right tools for the job. I am a firm believer in training for staff as that is one investment that always pays off.”

The team from Spectrum have been working hard over the last 12 months to update their Quality Standards. This commitment has paid off and the company was recently awarded ISO: 2015 following a successful audit. This internationally recognised quality standard recognises the systems that the company work to have robust systems and practices in place.

The business had already been awarded ISO 9001 accreditation.

Chris said: “Spectrum is a small company, which means we can offer the best of both worlds – a personal service and the experience of a well-established, forward thinking company.”

On top of the company’s core service of powder coating constant investment in machinery and training enables the business to offer a wide range of services including masking to detailed drawings and casting impregnation and sealing facilities including box ovens for coating large and heavy items as well as a fully automated line for coating volume production components. The company has its own fleet of vehicles so can arrange collection and delivery.
