F W Abbott Ltd, Kettering’s only DAF trucks service and repair centre have teamed up with Ford & Slater, one of the UK’s largest independent DAF dealerships to open a dedicated TRP parts store and delivery service, based at F W Abbotts site on the Kettering Business Park near the A14.
The TRP (Truck Related Parts) service centre is one of many new sites opening across the UK stocking an extensive range of parts for all makes of trucks and trailers across the DAF dealer network.
A long-standing relationship between F W Abbott Ltd and Ford & Slater for the supply of parts has led to the new facility being created, as Frank D’Ambrosio, Parts Manager of Ford & Slater explained: "We were already in discussion to provide a one-stop-shop parts solution to F W Abbott. We have now established a dedicated parts service based in the heart of Northamptonshire that will supply parts for all makes of trucks and trailers."
DAF were looking to increase the availability of their TRP parts offering and F W Abbott provides an ideal location situated in Kettering by the A14.
F W Abbott Ltd have been an authorised DAF service and repair centre for many years so the new parts store further enhances their existing service alongside their MOT Authorised Testing Facility for heavy trucks and light commercials. The firm also caters for Class 4, Class 7 testing and light vehicle repairs on cars and vans. The new facility took just four months to build and includes a parts counter, a new driver waiting area and internal mezzanine floor. Opening on 1 October 2016, the parts shop stores in excess of 2,000 lines in its 1,000 square foot facility.

Parts can be collected or delivered by the dedicated TRP parts van bringing a better and quicker service to existing and potential customers at competitive prices.

In addition to the new Kettering parts store, there is also a new TRP catalogue (both online and in print), a new DAF Web shop to buy TRP and DAF parts and the TRP website has been updated for improved functionality with over 75,000 lines available.
