New ways to avoid higher costs

THE air conditioning industry is constantly looking at ways of making products more efficient and less harmful to the environment.

In addition, the latest revision of the F-Gas regulations has placed production limits on some refrigerant gases, resulting in massive price increases over the past year and there will be more to come. This is not a problem for existing air conditioning systems, providing they do not develop a gas leak or need recharging because of a faulty compressor. In situations where systems need refrigerant gas to be added, this is becoming very expensive.

Many new systems are now being manufactured with R32 refrigerant gas that is not affected by production limits, is less harmful to the environment, and has superior energy efficiency, resulting in a smaller gas charge.

If certain faults do occur on older air conditioning equipment, it may well be more economical to replace the whole system with a new R32 one, which will also have a seven-year warranty (Daikin systems installed by Griffiths Air Conditioning).

Of course, at this time of year the engineers at Griffiths are very busy keeping people warm with a wide range of heating products including air and ground source heat pumps, air to air heat pumps (conventional air conditioning), and modern ‘A’ rated gas boilers.

In addition, the Griffiths Service Team are making sure regular maintenance is carried out to heating, cooling and ventilation equipment throughout Northamptonshire, an essential part of keeping it at peak condition and spotting possible problems at an early stage.

Griffiths install and maintain the full range of building services including air conditioning, electrics, domestic gas, heat pumps, plumbing, solar panels, sun tunnels, underfloor heating, and ventilation, with many end users appreciating the benefits of dealing with just one contractor for all their technical requirements.

You can contact Griffiths by telephone on 01536 420666, via their website at www.griffithsaircon.co.uk or by visiting their Energy Efficiency Centre showroom at 111 High Street in Burton Latimer between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
