New year, new office, new team

NEW year, new office, new team and new clients – it’s already shaping up to be a busy 2020 for the team at Pilkington Communications who this year celebrate seven years in business.

The team, led by director Jessica Pilkington and head of PR Kim Hughes, collectively have more than 50 years PR and journalism experience and last summer expanded into new offices in Northampton’s Mobbs Miller House.

The company, which counts logistics, not-for-profit and food and drink among its many specialist sectors, offers PR and social media consultation and support to organisations across the region.

Director Jessica said: “The turn of the calendar year is a key time for businesses to not only plan ahead but to also review what worked and perhaps didn’t the previous year. Our advice is to ring in the new year with a PR plan and to make sure you integrate all your communications – your social media and press releases with your online content, artwork, networking opportunities and blogs.

“So, if you are launching a new product or service or simply want to raise the profile of your organisation then make sure you promote your key messages across all your platforms and link browsers and readers to any blogs, social media content or films you may also have created.”

Typically, the Pilkington Communications team find that January is one of their busiest times of the year for enquiries and support.

Head of PR Kim added: “After the Christmas break businesses turn their attention to the year ahead and resolve to do everything they can, whether it be to expand and promote or to sell, inspire or educate.”

To support businesses in the new year the firm is launching:

* A new PR Toolkit for 2020, packed with media, social media, blogging, and content creation top tips. Simply visit www.pilkington-comms.co.uk to download your free copy, or contact the team to request a printed copy.

* A new Communications Coaching Club for businesses wanting to boost their own PR and who want guidance, support and templates to do it themselves.

The team are also kickstarting the year by offering businesses a free one-hour telephone or face-to-face PR consultation – absolutely no obligation and designed to be a useful starting point for smaller businesses wanting to consider PR, charities wanting to raise more funds and larger businesses looking to evaluate the effectiveness of their current approach to PR.
