IF you’ve always thought that there’s plenty of business networking to be done on the golf course but your game’s not really up to it, an award-winning Northamptonshire business coach may have come up with the perfect answer.
Emerson Patton of Bright Business Advice has launched Golf and Grow, an opportunity to improve your contacts and grow your business while at the same time ironing out any problems with your golf swing.
Two monthly Golf and Grow sessions are being held in the county – giving guests two hours in which to network, spend time on the driving range, and enjoy one another’s company for the benefit of their game and their business.
Emerson said: “There are definite parallels between golf and business. If you’ve been letting your golf game develop organically, without coaching from a professional, you might have got into bad habits. The same applies to business.
“I’m a keen golfer but I need to work on my game and the idea came to me to get businesses together who wanted to improve their golf and meet other like-minded individuals.
“It’s not a round of golf, because that can be time consuming. We meet, network, have a breakfast roll and a hot drink and spend time on the driving range where we have a club pro in attendance giving people advice. That could be complete beginners or experience players who just need to improve on certain techniques.
“It’s not competitive, so no one needs to feel self-conscious, it’s just a good way to get together, have fun and network.”
Golf and Grow Rushden takes place at Rushden Golf Range on the fourth Wednesday of each month, while Golf and Grow Collingtree is held at Collingtree Golf Range on the third Wednesday of the month.
