Photographer’s delight at Vogue milestone

PHOTOGRAPHER Nick Freeman is well known for his eye-catching images. Until now, his dream has been to have a photo published by iconic fashion and lifestyle magazine Vogue.

Now that dream has been realised with a stunning photo of a pair of shoes taken during a shoot at footwear manufacturer Newman & Regent’s factory in Kettering.

“I staged the shot while walking through their factory looking for interesting locations and my client and British Vogue loved it,” Nick says.

His career has spanned more than three decades, with his work featured in numerous national publications. “After 34 years of working as a photographer I have had many incredible firsts in my career and having a photo published in Vogue is definitely right up there among them.”

The photo was among a series of formal and informal shots to mark Newton & Regent’s rebranding and the expansion of the company’s range. The Newman & Regent factory is one of the earliest large boot and shoe factories in Kettering and has a long history of producing quality footwear. Its original occupant was Newman & Sons in 1873 and other occupants since have included George Essain and Co in 1929 and Bignell Ltd in 1937. The building still retains its traditional interior, creating a striking backdrop for the shoot.

Nick’s portfolio ranges from commercial photography and professional headshots to photography for publications and weddings.  He also creates video clips and talking headshots which are used by organisations in their online and social media content.

“I am now working with several fashion designers on shoots showcasing their garments which we will be pitching for features and cover images,” he says.
