THE SME Northamptonshire Business Awards 2018, which recognise the successes of enterprising SMEs in the county, is now in its third year.
Last year, Parm Bhangal, Managing Director of Bhangals Construction Consultants, won the Young Business Person of the Year award and says it really boosted the profile of his company at a local level and resulted in new relationships and direct business growth.
Now Parm, 29, is ready to pass the baton on to his successor by sponsoring the same category in the 2018 awards.
Parm said: “Winning the Young Business Person of the Year award last year was just amazing. I started in quantity surveying as a 17-year-old on a work placement and loved it! At 21, I started Bhangals Construction Consultants, my own quantity surveying business, from my bedroom. Fast forward eight years and we have two offices, a team of 10 people and a sister business offering a full estimating service called My Build Estimate.
“Recognising the achievements, drive and ambition of young people in business with an award like this is incredibly important. This is why we wanted to sponsor the category this year. Not only does it drive those who are shortlisted or winners on to do better, but it opens doors for them that can help them to grow further – both on a personal development level and as a business. I’m looking forward to seeing who enters the category this year, hearing their stories and handing over the award to the next worthy winner.”
