Sponsors on board for next year

FIX Auto UK, the UK’s leading vehicle repair network, is lending its support to the Harris & Co entry in the 2016 Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship.

The Leicester-based operation has agreed to sponsor the Mini Cooper classic car, driven by Phil Harris, the principal at Harris & Co, Northampton-based chartered accountants and business advisers to both the automotive and motorsport sectors.

Phil, who first stepped into a rally car at the tender age of 13, has made a remarkable return to the sport in the car that he has owned since 1976 after a 25-year hiatus to concentrate on his business.

During the 2015 Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship Phil had six class wins from six starts. Those results saw Phil take the class (B2) national title as well as second place overall in the highly competitive Category 1 that encompasses all historic pre-1968 rally cars.

Ian Pugh, of Fix Auto UK, said: “We are delighted to be supporting the Harris & Co Mini Cooper in the UK’s premier historic rally championship for 2016. The car has been fantastically successful this year with six class wins out of six and, as a leader in the automotive repair business, it is a great way for us to display our philosophy of being a front runner too.”

Phil Harris said: “We have a long association with the automotive sector, and the chance to work alongside a leading brand such as Fix Auto UK is very exciting.”

In addition, leading motorsport photographers RallySport Media have agreed to add their backing.

Chris Huish of RallySport Media, said “The Mini Cooper S is an iconic car and provides opportunities for fantastic shots. We are delighted to be supplying Harris & Co with imagery for their marketing collateral.”
