Stepping up to the challenge

IT was a wet cold morning in March but this didn’t stop the staff and family of Prestige & Homeseeker and friends from Midshires Electrical and Lighting, who took part in Stanwick Lakes 10K and 5K runs. The team were determined to raise money in aid of Cransley Hospice and the funds continued to rise after the event, hitting above target.

Prestige & Homeseeker Park and Leisure homes are one of largest local employers, employing more than 450 people over two sites in Kettering and Rushden. Every year they raise money for local charities chosen by their staff. For the second year running they partnered up with key supplier and friends of independent electrical wholesaler Midshires and raised an incredible £6,725 for Cransley Hospice between them.

Mark Christian, Finance Director, said: “I am thrilled to have done the Stanwick Lake run in aid of Cransley Hospice, and wasn’t expecting a personal best. Knowing we were raising money for a local charity was the best part of all.”

Cransley Hospice provides free of charge palliative care to patients with complex needs, and supports patients in their chosen place of care at the end of life, whether this is in a hospice or the patient’s home. The hospice relies on companies like Prestige & Homeseeker and Midshires to raise £1.3 million each year to continue provide these vital services in the county.
