Founder Jules White said: “The only hard decision around this case study was deciding which benefit we have received from Facebook to focus on, when I sat and thought about it, I realised that there were a multitude of ways in which we use Facebook: new business generation, raising the profile of the business, recruiting an apprentice, filling training courses, inviting the business community to networking events and raising funds for our chosen charity to name just a few.”

On 15 January, Jules and her team at The Last Hurdle played host to a film crew and interviewer and Jules shared her experiences of the day:

“The chaps from the film crew were great, very professional, friendly and really focused on giving us the best experience. Kate, the interviewer, is one of those people you can enthuse with for hours, I found it so easy to talk about the business and all the ways we have generated business through Facebook.”

So what’s next? The case study is due for release in the next few weeks and The Last Hurdle / Facebook journey doesn’t end here, on 26 January, at The Brewery in London, Facebook held it’s boot camp – an event designed to advise small business owners on how to get the most for their business from their Facebook use. Jules White was due to be sitting on the panel at this event with a number of other ‘success stories’ and Facebook Management to answer questions on Facebook for Business.

Jules’ top tips for Facebook are: “Be yourself! People buy from people, remember this is ‘social’ media, people will buy into you first and your product or services second. Don’t be afraid to try something new and don’t give up, consistency is key.”
