Taking up a new role

IN the space of just five years, Georgina Stevenson has transformed what was an apprenticeship with lettings and property specialist Chelton Brown into a new role as manager of the firm’s Daventry office.

She will head up a team of four who provide lettings advice, property maintenance and repairs services and renewal negotiations to landlords, as well a property sales department that works with buy-to-let landlords looking to build their portfolios, as well as private buyers.

Georgina, who has now been with Chelton Brown for almost five years, took up her new role at the turn of the year. She said: “I started as an apprentice in the Daventry office and got a good grounding in all aspects of the business before I specialised in property management and got my technical award in that.

“I moved to the Northampton office and gained further qualifications in sales, which was something I’d always wanted to do, and in renewals and handling property repairs. At the end of last year I was given the opportunity to go back to Daventry as office manager and I was delighted.

“The thing I like about this job is the people you deal with, both tenants and landlords, and helping them both find what they need.”

The Daventry office role became available when former manager Edward Chelton-Brown moved to the firm’s Northampton office as New Business Manager.

Edward said: “I’m delighted that Georgina is stepping into the role. She came to us as an apprentice and it was obvious that she was going to make a success of it. She has come a long way in a short time and it’s excellent for us to have someone coming through who knows the company and knows the business as well as she does. She’s well liked by her colleagues and respected by those she deals with and I’m sure she will do a great job.”
