The great Easter egg challenge

STAFF from solicitors Howes Percival LLP and accountants MHA MacIntyre Hudson went head-to-head in a race to see who could donate the most Easter Eggs towards a very worthy cause – vulnerable children living in Northamptonshire.

Easter is just around the corner and not all children are able to share the excitement of Easter with a chocolate egg. Jeanette Walsh of Northamptonshire County Council, also known as the Northamptonshire Easter Bunny, has brought back the Easter Egg challenge for businesses to do their best, rally their staff and to donate the most eggs they can to children in care in Northamptonshire.

Howes Percival staff have been busy donating Easter Eggs in a friendly challenge with MHA MacIntyre Hudson, trying to improve on the combined 200 eggs that were donated by both firms last year. All donated Easter Eggs go to children from families who are receiving support from Northamptonshire County Council.

Often, these children are going through difficult personal circumstances and may not otherwise get an Easter Egg, so Jeanette has made it her personal challenge to try to raise over 5,000 eggs from businesses across the county.

The Howes Percival / MHA MacIntyre Hudson donated eggs were collected by Jeanette Walsh last month and the firms smashed last year’s record by donating 253 eggs.

Gerald Couldrake, Partner at Howes Percival LLP said: “We are delighted to be involved again this year with the wonderful work that Jeanette is doing with the council. The generosity shown by the business community across Northamptonshire highlights the importance of supporting our younger generation wherever we can, to ensure everyone enjoys an Easter Egg, irrespective of their circumstances.”

Handing over the Easter Eggs to Jeannette Walsh of Northamptonshire County Council at Howes Percival’s new Northampton premises at Rushmills was Trainee Lawyer Victoria Howe and Business Services Manager, Michael Meakin-Blackwell from MHA MacIntyre Hudson.
