Two brands, one solution

KETTERING-based signage and display company Sign of the Times exhibited at London’s Retail Design Expo (RDE) at the start of May for the first time alongside partner Astley, and the event proved to be a huge success.

RDE is Europe’s leading annual event for innovation and inspiration in retail design, marketing, branding, visual merchandising, architecture and shopfitting. Both Sign of the Times and Astley were exhibiting together to promote their ‘two brands, one solution’ (www.twobrandsonesolution.co.uk) approach to the market, offering anything from multi-site external signage and display program fulfilment to bespoke internal office enhancement solutions.

Combining extensive resource and experience between both companies has proved extremely beneficial to their current client portfolio, and the promotion of this unique relationship at the event was key. With clients like Waitrose, Nationwide and Sainsbury’s in the portfolio already, the aim was to attract more household brand names.

Sign of the Times has also recently become one of only 15 UK approved suppliers of NeonPlus® and the response on the day to this particular product was enormous. The benefits of lower running costs, extensive range of colours, styles and fixings, not to mention the product also being 100 per cent manufactured in the UK, was something that attracted both retailers and the design and branding agencies on the day.

“It’s the first time we have exhibited at an event like this and the response we got was incredible,” said Darren Roughton, Managing Director at Sign of the Times. “We learnt a lot about how the approach to retail is rapidly changing – it’s so much more about the consumer experience now rather than the sale of the product. The vast experience and ability we have in-house to create these unique, bespoke environments is evidently becoming the answer for retailers and I’m really excited about the response we had.”
