Volunteers wanted

KELMARSH Hall and Gardens has completed its biggest restoration project to date; the below stairs area, Tunnelling through the Past, which has bought the Servants’ Quarters and Old Laundry to life through modern technologies and a full sensory experience.

Thanks to the £1.3m grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, previously unseen areas of the hall will be open to the public in April. This new visitor experience enables Kelmarsh Hall to offer a fantastic family day out, capturing the voices of those who worked at the hall.

As part of this exciting new chapter in its history, Kelmarsh Hall and Gardens is now recruiting volunteers to assist with opening the hall to visitors. Volunteers can also be a part of new educational activities and get involved with preserving the beauty of the gardens for future generations.

Volunteer Open Days will be held on Tuesday, 13 February and Thursday, 22 February which will give people the chance to find out more about each role from current volunteers, whilst experiencing all that the hall and gardens have to offer.

If you enjoy history, meeting new people and want to learn new skills – a volunteer role at Kelmarsh would be perfect.
