WEATHERBYS Ltd, one of Wellingborough’s largest employers, has launched the Weatherbys Academy, an exciting new concept providing a framework of learning with built-in milestones for employees to complete and achieve.

The launch was kick started by Johnny and Roger Weatherby and supported by Michael Caulfield, from The Sporting Edge as the keynote speaker. Michael partners Weatherbys with its many learning and development modules and offers an inspiring and innovative way of connecting with people to achieve high impact and great results.

Set up to provide a structured career path for everyone, this initiative works hand in hand with the current Performance Review Process to help support all employees in their roles, allowing them the opportunity to progress, grow and develop a career with the company.

Graham Ayres, Weatherbys Managing Director, said: “The Academy will offer everyone a framework within which all company learning and development activity will be encompassed.

“The Academy will create a means of delivering a range of strategic objectives, such as developing new talent and improving capability across all disciplines. By adopting this framework it will be possible to better plan the level of investment, understand and deliver best practice while also maintaining and developing a positive development ethos for all staff.”

Weatherbys has been based in Wellingborough for over 40 years. It was opened by the Queen Mother in 1970 and has steadily grown and become renowned throughout the racing industry for a dedicated and professional workforce that provides a first class service.

The Academy will become one of the cornerstones of its reward and benefits package with the hope that it will be an attractive offering for both new employees as well as those already in the business looking to progress.
